At Wi-Ne-Ma we strive to provide well-rounded experience for our summer staff. Thus, seasonal workers spend one week at a time working in each of our various capacities. The singular exception is that of Lifeguard which is an emergency certified position.
LIFEGUARD If you enjoy the water and want to help kids have fun at our lake, we need you! Get certified! Duties include:
Working with the Recreation Director to get water equipment ready
Overseeing scheduled waterfront times
Supervising swim tests
Overseeing volunteers who help the guard watch the docks and the boats
Maintaining guard safety equipment
Conducting daily checks of flotation equipment for safety
[This job is typically paired with a Kitchen or Custodial Assistant position to create a full-time summer position]
KITCHEN ASSISTANT Summer staff enjoy preparing meals for campers who love to devour them! Duties include:
Meal preparation assistance under the supervision of the Food Service Director
Operating various pieces of kitchen equipment
Serving guests on the food line
Washing dishes, pots, and pans
Cleaning up in the kitchen and dining room
Maintaining proper food storage procedures
GROUNDS & CUSTODIAL ASSISTANT Duties Include:
Cleaning and maintenance under the supervision of the Custodial Director
Routine garbage collection
Cleaning & sanitizing bathrooms, showers, large gathering spaces
Maintaining hillside trails
Powerwashing
Maintaining landscaping with mowers and weedeaters
**There may be opportunity for some work before and after the summer season
