HOW DOES IT WORK?Friends of Wi-Ne-Ma Day is a series of auctions of items donated by churches and individuals who support the ministry of Wi-Ne-Ma, with the proceeds going toward Wi-Ne-Ma.
It begins with a silent auction, where items are displayed along with a piece of paper. Those who choose to bid on items write their name and their bid on the paper, and the highest bid for each item is announced starting at 1pm. 11am starts the oral auction of church "baskets". While not all items are actually in a basket, they are all gift bundles donated by churches. Not only do bidders have the chance to win great bundles, but the basket that goes for the highest amount wins the donating church a scholarship to use for summer camps! After the baskets, we get a live concert, and then gather for lunch. The day ends with an oral auction of various items, including a traditional paddle auction! |
