HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD FOR camp?

What DOES my CHILD need to bring?
Your camper will need:
- Clothes for each day of camp (6 days after they arrive)
- A coat for wet weather (in case it rains)
- A warm sweatshirt or coat
- Shoes for running, walking and playing on the beach
- Swimwear that covers his/her body parts very well (swim t-shirts are encouraged)
- Toiletries and a towel
- Sleeping bag, pillow, and blanket
- A flashlight
- Bible, notepad, and pencil
- Necessary medications in their original containers in a Ziplock-style bag with their name boldly displayed
** If you have further questions about your camper's clothing needs, contact the director of the camp your child will be attending

Should My child bring money?
Yes -- there is a Camp store.
Middle School and Junior campers -- all money is GIVEN TO THE OFFICE STAFF AT REGISTRATION and a store card is issued in that amount to be used by your camper at the Camp store. Each camper is allowed 2 items per day; this comes to $4-5 per day . . . This does not include merchandise, e.g., sweatshirts, hats, water bottles
High School campers -- campers take care of their own money and use at the store at their discretion
At the end of camp, campers and families can purchase Camp merchandise -- shirts, sweatshirts, hats, sunglasses, mugs and more
** All campers are encouraged to apply a portion of their money to the missionary for their week of camp
** On the final day of camp, during checkout, all remaining funds will be returned to you or your camper or may be given to missions

- Illegal drugs or abusable substances
- Weapons -- pocket knives or anything similar are not allowed at camp
- Images/pictures that detract from the camp's purpose of honoring God

All medications will be turned in to the camp nurse during registration

How can I contact my child?
Although campers aren't permitted to have personal devices, we encourage you to email your campers at [email protected] or send letters and care packages . . . Be sure to include your camper's name and their camp session. Here's an example:

CAN I VISIT THE CAMP WHILE MY CHILD IS THERE?
For the security of the campers and staff, all camps are closed to visitors who are not registered campers or approved camp or program staff . . . This includes immediate family, friends, relatives and home church staff . . . Visitor requests may only be made through the front office and must be approved by the Executive and camp directors
What if i need to cancel MY CHILD'S REGISTRATION?
All cancellations are made through the front office . . . Cancellations executed up to one week in advance of the camp will be refunded in full except for a $25 processing fee
** Cancellations executed less than one week prior to camp will not be refunded

HOW DO i contact my camper in the event of an emergency?
In the event of an emergency, contact the front office at 503-392-3362 and we will promptly notify the camp staff supervising your camper to arrange for a phone call
How do you handle illness?
For all on-site illnesses and injuries, a camp nurse is present to provide care . . . In the event of an emergency, we will immediately contact the camper's emergency contact person
To insure the healthiest experience for all campers coming to camp, please use these screening questions before bringing your camper to camp:
1) Has my camper experienced symptoms of illness in the last 24 hours? (e.g., fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or skin rash)
2) Has my camper, or anyone in immediate contact with him/her, tested positive for Covid19 in the last five days?
3) Does my camper have lice?
4) Is my camper unusually fatigued?
** If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, we ask that you please speak to your camper's doctor before considering bringing them to camp

Homesickness is a perfectly normal occurrence . . . Our directors and counselors are trained to help encourage campers and to keep spirits up

- Have a conversation with your camper ahead of time -- let them know that it's okay to miss home, but that remaining at camp brings the most fun!
- Explain that the counselors and staff are there to help them if they're struggling
- Send emails, letters, and/or care packages to your camper throughout the week

What if my camper has specific dietary needs?
Please specify your camper's dietary needs when you register them -- these needs will be passed on to our kitchen staff who will work to accommodate them . . . If we cannot fully meet a camper's needs, we will work with you toward a reasonable solution

- Registration begins at 3 PM -- you may bring your camper as early as 2:30 to stand in line
- PARKING -- Follow the roped driveway up through our RV area SLOWLY . . . Park on the big field just past the RV area
- Leave your camper's gear in your car until after registration
- Bring to registration: final payment, medications, store money (except high school students)
- Check-in begins at the Main Office in our Missions Building (first building on the left when entering camp)
- Pick up camper at 10 AM the following Saturday
** PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN CAMP -- Please leave them home or in your car to avoid a fine **
